Hey guys I just was surfing the web again (I should have been studying but I couldn't resist the temptation) and came across a Shelby Ram Van from 1989. so far, only 2 or 3 examples have been found and the rumor ahs it that 100 or less were built. Has anyobyd heard of these? I think they look cool and different. If I had a Shelby Dodge car or maybe even one of the older Shelby Fords it would make a cool race car hauler.

Was Shelby that hard up for cash that he needed to put his name on that?

    Apparently......

I think I heard of those before. Some enterprising van conversion company guy meets C.S. and his light bulb goes off......

It must have happened before he quit drinking. :biglaugh:
They were made by Safari Vans in CA.
While it had a 'fuel injection' decal on the front fender, I'm pretty sure there were no performance mods to the Dodge vans beyond graphics, a steering wheel, and a badge on the dash.
Maybe they were meant to tow real Shelby race cars.

...... maybe because every head gasket in that era of Chrysler 4 banger blew every month?....and CV joints, and ............:rofl2::rofl2::rofl2:

I will admit, I did get to drive a Shelby Turbo Horizon once and was impressed at the time, it did go like a bandit out of hell but proved not reliable...... the same car I drove went through so many heads gaskets and a couple heads it proved not worth fixing anymore and was scrapped, and this was not a car that was abused by owner.

you Shelby Omni, the GLH or the GLH-S (difference was weather the car was built at Chrysler or built at Shelby's place and had his signature on it)

I'm surprised you had trouble, the K's sold very well, were very profitable, made Car and Driver back in the day, and today I still see a K-car of some kind a few times a week, though they are typically well-maintined ones with little rust. The only exception is the yellow Aries or Reliant wagon I see sometimes in Troy, Ohio.
