    All,

I found a place to get just about any rubber part needed including those for less than popular autos.

Finally I've researched enough to find this place. http://www.metrommp.com/

They seem to have everything I'll need anyway. I surfed their site and found that they also reference part numbers used on other cars besides what it's listed for. I sent them an email to send me their CD of their parts and it came in three days in the mail. Good sign that they are very responsive. Surfing the CD I've found that they display pictures of the shapes of extrusions for door seals, window seals etc with dimensions so that I can match what I need. Of course they don't do everything but they have the majority of the rubber parts I'll need.

Since I have a '82 model there is nothing available by searching for the car. But, with good pictures and dimensions I can pretty much match anything. My problem has been with those companies that only describe by make/model and year. Most auto manufacturers use suppliers like soffseal and metro anyway so going to the source usually works. The only remaining seals that will be a challenge are the outer window seals since they are pretty specific per model. Some things seem to be made of "unobtainium" for the later model cars. The popular collectables such as early camaros and mustangs are pretty easy to get everything.
