I know, very original title. Anyway, I just joined this. I have an '86 AMC Eagle wagon. Currently stock with the 258 6 cyl. that I hope someday to replace with an AMC 360. Also hope to fix up interior & exterior. Currently painted flat black, no headliner or carpet. Bedliner material instead ( roll / spray on type, not solid plastic ).

Just added pictures if anybody wants to see what it looks like. Also on Photo Bucket under my " AMC " album. Not legal yet, I usually drive my truck.

Thanks. Already am on one for Ford trucks ( FTE ) & AMC Eagles. Never thought about one for wagons till I saw something on FTE. I figured, why not. Might find something here I need to know. Anyway I do like the wagon body style. The first thing I ever owned ( & actually drove ) was a wagon. Unfortunately it was a gm product. '63 olds f85 w/215 aluminum v-8. Very rare I think. Gave it to my niece when I joined the Army & her husband at the time tore the tranny out of it.

Thought about that before. Almost bought a Pinto wagon once w/ a V-8. Smoked bad & used car dealer wanted way too much for it. Actually wanted an LTD wagon before I bought my cop car back in about '03 or '04. What was the last year FORD made a full size, V-8, rear wheel drive wagon ( body on frame, not unibody )?

:Welcome: OFM. The last full-size, RWD, V8 wagon from Ford is the 1991 Ford Country Squire/Mercury Colony Park. When Ford changed the Crown Vic/Grand Marquis to the more rounded style in 1992, the wagon disappeared. As far as the body-on-frame part...I don't know if the 1991 CS/CP's were body-on-frame, or if they were unibody. I am assuming they are body-on-frame. That 1991 body-style, however, dates back to Ford's downsizing of the LTD/Marquis (becoming the "Panther" platform) in 1979 and only minor revisions were made throughout the years.

TopherS, thanks for the reply. Was just a matter of curiousity more than anything earth-shattering. As you may have guessed from my handle, I like FORDs. Bought this Eagle because I was looking for something cool to hot rod mildly. Did some checking & found out that an AMC V-8 can be installed with some work. Didn't sound too major, so I decided to try it. Paid some guy in Va. for a 360 he was selling & asked him to store it in his garage till I could arrange shipping. About a month, maybe 1½, & tried to contact him. No luck. Eventually gave up & called the Sheriff's Dept. in his neck of the woods. Found out they have warrants on him & he's on the run. House was foreclosed the end of Mar. Appears to have been mixed up in dope. Not sure what I'm going to do now. Still want a 360, can't afford one right now.

    Dude, that sucks!!!

Hopefully, you'll find your 360 soon though...and the long-arm-of-the-law will find their man.

I get your affinity for Fords, though. I was raised with a 72 Marquis Brougham, a 66 Ford pickup and a 67 Ranchero as the family vehicles for most of my childhood. My first car was a 75 Mercury Monarch. My dad always went towards Ford products...later moving to a 95 TBird and for my mom, a 91 Crown Vic. Now, my mom has a 04 Grand Marquis.

Due to that, I always have liked Fords, but my rebelious side  steered me toward GM's. I, myself, am mostly a Buick/Olds guy...made for some interesting conversations with dad for a while.

If you asked my dad, God drives a Ford...and I'm sure right now, dad is up there working on it for him. :yup:

Welcome fellow FTE'er. There's a really nice bunch of folks here on the board. My best buddy used to have an Eagle but he sold it (practically gave it away and it was in really great shape) about 5 years ago. I kept telling him to hang onto it since it's a really neat vehicle and not very common.

Howdy back at you. What you got? Mine's a '91 F-150 XLT Lariat ( Old Rusty ). I'm in Mo. Actually owned ( well, me & the bank on the first one, me & the credit union on the second one ) 2 New Eagles. Started with a Kammback & traded for a wagon. Have owned / driven wagons more than once & am back in one now ( sorta, problems to fix before I get it legal ). Just looked at your sig. as much as I dislike 5h1trolet, I do know a little bit about them as my question will show. Always thought the 2 dr. wagons were nomads. What's the difference?
