It probably won't be sold here in Holland, but I do like it. It seems to me you see more and more of these cross-over cars which have some retro influance from the states. At least, I call the incredible square look retro. Today I saw a Dodge Nitro with some nice wheels; really nice!

The other day, I went with my friend to the Ford dealer and checked out the Flex. We didn't drive one, but they had 3 or 4 on the lot. One was an entry level, without the vista windows in the roof and had the side rails of a luggage rack (no crossrails). The others had the vista windows in the roof. The one on the showroom floor was a Limited. It had all the bells/whistles. The seats were white with some sort of colored diamond stripes on them. They were the most comfortable seats I have found on almost any late-model car...very cushy. The basic seat coverings almost look like some aftermarket K-Mart seat covers. I was impressed that all models, regardless of trim level, has such things as reverse sensors and automatic dimming rearview mirrors.

My friend thinks they look like a stretched Mini Cooper (especially when it has a white top and the body is any other color but white. The salesman said that he hears a lot of people say it looks like a Scion. Being a wagon fan, of course, I'm looking for the wagon-resemblance in anything even remotely wagon-like. The model that had the roof rack looked a little more wagon-like then the flat-topped models.

The wife hates them, so I guess we won't be getting one anytime soon. :disagree:

IMHO, I like the Taurus X (nee' Freestyle) better, as far as styling goes. I drove one. It was nice...and the kiddos loved it! :yup:

I totally dig it. Well, almost totally. I would TOTALLY dig it if they'd kept the name they gave it as a concept -- Fairlane.

Yeah, there's a lot of new wagons coming about.

How about the Dodge Magnum? Old news I know, but I'm thinking of getting one with the 5.7 Hemi, and rigging up a nice woodgrain kit for it!

I do recall seeing pix of a pre-production Flex mule with what looked like a woodgrain treatment on the side. The thing looked like it was 25 feet long.

Jeez:banghead3: I said I recall seeing pix. Tough crowd in here. :camera: Just googled it and found the shot I recall seeing. Got bad reviews from those who first blogged about it. Have to agree...this is not how I would do it.

If it ain't in a post, I ignore it, but I see it now. Cute car.

You remember the early 60's mopars with the swivel out bucket seats? Now that would be an option that would make sense. You opened the door and the seat would turn to the exterior. They had an arm under the floor hooked to the hinge. Slick system.

Yep, and all the construction materials to fix it up. When you think you could buy a new 1957 chevy belair 2-dr HT, up here for under $1,800. You have to wonder what the Governments call inflation. Imagine how much cars will cost when they start throwing in the new fuel rates to ship the parts for assembly, and then the cars to the dealers. OUCH!!!

Ain't that the truth. I would rather go to Mexico and find me a old wagon to bring back to restore.

Google for 'refracciones' or 'piezas de automobiles'. Should help to find Mexican junkyards. I'd say you have a better chance in smaller towns, rather than the big cities. Too much corruption via the cops and gangs.
