Well, we turned the TV off a couple months ago which means spending more time on the internet. I stumbled upon something interesting and against my better judgment I'm going to buy it. Already made the deal just need to figure out how to pick it up.It's a 65 IH Metro. It doesn't run but it is all there with minor rust. I'm sure my neighbors are going to love seeing it sit in my backyard till I get it running and plated. :coco:

A hi-top wagon! I had an old Dodge unit like that, but yours is a classic. All your neighbours with kids will be bugging you to help haul an upright piano for them to practice on! :rofl2:

KK, you always impress with your knowledge of neat history! (y)

i saw a local one at a carshow in WA, it had a bog dairy cow with gold flake on the collar, in poly white with black moo moo accents. it also had a horn that went MOOOOOOOOO. quite hilarious actually.

I have a HotWheels van ice cream truck called "Eye Screem" with evil clown and stuff, your van would be perfect for that.

Well first things first is to get it running. I hope it doens't need a bunch of work for that to happen. Brakes need work also. Long term plans is to make it into a cool work van. I may go with this paint scheme minus the IH logos.

You could have lots of fun with that. I saw a Divco at the Louisville car show a few years ago, that had the top chopped, slammed to the ground, top hinged rear door, and a really cool interior.

Picking it up tomorrow (Sunday) morning. I'm hoping it won't take much to get it running. Really hoping it's not an mechanical failure in the engine.

Not sure yet. It's a pretty large 6cyl. with a 5 speed. Not sure if it is an OD tranny they made 2 different 5 speeds. I will hopefully know in the next few days.

Well it's home. My buddy who towed it here, when he first seen it, said "Oh My God, I think you've lost it." he couldn't believe how many people gave him a big grin or thumbs up on the 70 mile ride. I think his F150 was about maxed out on the weight limit. He took a quick peek under it when attaching the straps and said it has a Dana 60 under it. Now to attempt to get it running.

According to some info from an IH forum they had one with OD and one without. You should hear his F150. It's got a 5.8L with aluminum heads, a big cam and in my opinion a way too loud exhaust.

Getting there. Will be 41 in a few months and I used to like my cars loud, now I want them quiet with some of the creature comforts I never cared about. Things that this van definitely doesn't have. For years I was listening to death metal or anything else fast and loud. But for some reason recently I can't stand it. I've been listening to classic rock which I always hated. Maybe I am loosing it. :coco:
