May leave this evening or in morning, all depending on the weather. Today is the only day of rain in the forecast and rest of the week looks like upper 50's at night, low 80's during the day. Should be great weather. The wife and I treated ourselves to a new Nikon digital rechargeable camera for our 17th wedding anniversary yesterday. It is nothing fancy and don't know anything about cameras but hoping to be able to take a bunch of pics this year. Been going 16 years and always only took a handful of pictures because the camera would never keep charged batteries in it. Even new ones would be low in a hour or so. Hope to have a lot of pics to share when I get back.
Congratulations on your anniversary! Have fun on the coast but pay a little attention to your bride too! I buy cameras with replacebly AA batteries and carry extras. Never have to worry about the camera needing charged. Now go out and get yourselves recharged and have fun!
Thanks ModelT, I will be back next Sunday with the adventures of my dad and I. Everyone take care and hopefully I will have a lot to share when I return. Dennis
Buy yourself a battery charger and a package of AA rechargeable batteries. Then you can carry extras, but don't have to go out and buy batteries every time they go dead. My charger cost less than ten bucks and will recharge 4 AA or AAA at the same time.
Gulf coast. is there any other coast? Oh yea. I live 30 miles from the third coast myself. Find a map and count them, you left coaster. Does that mean Canadians look at you as a right coaster? Fox, most cameras have their own special wierd batteries that need recharged. I buy the AA type so I can do as you wrote. Don't even use rechargeable. Just replace them. The big difference is the cameras are slightly fatter than those with built in batteries. I've never had a problem. Still much smaller than my old film cameras and the Poloriod. Danged Dennis a week of cars and the beach! Stay out of H(.)(.)ters.
Cat Man, I thought your problem was NOT being able to find the camera when you wanted it? Have a great trip 1tire family!
I know where my cameras are. One is on the desk and two on front seat of truck. All have dead AA batteries but I misplaced the computer install disks and the cords to download them. duh? So I have not replaced the batteries and am so busy here that I haven't looked for the discs. Besides i have not gone anyplace interesting to take photos lately........... Except Wally World! Hope 1tire and dad are having fun. And he didn't forget to take his wife for their anniversary!
Morgan joined me this morning and brought her computer so she is swimming in the hotel pool and I am sitting here with her computer. The wife doesn't come too often. Every once in a while she will come for the day but a car is a car to her. She has a hard time understanding my dad and I with the cars. I take one of my vacation weeks for this and my wife is off all summer so no vacation for her and she says this is for my dad, me and Morgan to do. And 1tiredad is a funny man. I got a Panama Jack shirt for the car cruises, it is not a wild shirt or anything, it is a light tan and has palm leaves outlined in darker tan. He says this morning, "You look like a damn tourist!" He didn't go cruising with Morgan and I today...maybe it was the shirt  at least I know how to get rid of him now! I told him my wife got him one just like it for his birthday coming in a few months He said we should bring it back and was very serious when he said that! Anyway I have taken about 125 pictures so far, lots of wagons this year. Fixin' to head back out for a little nighttime crusin'. We are having a blast and only have a couple more days but guess it can't last forever. May have to get a lesson from someone how to load pics to photo bucket or something to share. Everyone take care and have photos to share soon.
1tireman sounds like a great way to celebrate a wedding anniversary. Maybe I'll try that. PS buy your dad a flamed shirt for his birthday.
We took the '55 Bel Air, '78 Malibu and '77 C-10 to the week long cruise on the Mississippi Gulf Coast and I got a new camera to take pictures. Think I got it straight! Been great weather and have seen a lot of Texas plates here. I met a family out of Houston with 2 Malibu's. 1 with a 406 the other a Turbo charged LS 6. Also had the pleasure of meeting a gentleman from Detroit that flies in for it and he shared pictures with me of his 442 and mustang he is restoring now. It has been a great time and hope one day to meet a member or two from here.
