We will be walking there in a few hours as it's that close. Not going to be the same this year as my Dad's health does not allow him to travel any more, I'm going to try and find a pic of me and him from last summers show. Lets hope the sun comes out, the web cam is showing that cars are all ready parking at the fountain and in a couple more hours the street will be closed to traffic. Last year a couple wagons showed up, hope to see them here again. That red Murcury custom you see at the fountain, that guy lives a street over from me, it's the real deal old school lead sled. Really nice guy, he built the car himself in the late 60's and has been cruising in it ever since. Web Cam.... hope it works. I'll be back with pics latter on today. http://www.cityoflangford.ca/EN/main/visit/web-cameras.html
Wave to us when you get there Tedy! Sadly we missed the nice car show while back in our hometown in central Illinois. Same problems as your dad. Too damned old to walk much. Enjoy it while ya can. In the past temps were 100 degres or more. This year 75 and sunny. whaaaaaa!
Oh Yeah, I'll wave my hat, Cat.... I'll even wear the same colour shirt. Here is a pic of Dad and me from last year infront of the custom Merc
I just saw on the web cam what looked like a orange Datsun wagon with a surf board on the roof.... looks like some fresh wagon meat will be there.
You talkin bout that 51 Ford? Set up just like "Pinky" my old 49 Ford except for the Oldsmobile grille. Same Merc skirts, same side pipes and spot lites. Ours had twin antennas on the rear fenders and remote doors too. The camera is cool. We can just sit on our butts and watch much of the show.
OH! Thanks for the flier Tedy. Forgot you are over the boarder. It's still sort of a Ford. I like that look of a factory original. And it's a 1951 ! So what did they call the real Mercury bodied Mercury?
Got company. Four pickup trucks plus mine and the 55 wagon sitting out in the yard. Looks like a redneck party! I'll keep checking back. Saw another guy wearing a cowboy hat.
Well if any one is interested, watch the web cam in 45 minutes form my posting, 11AM West Coast time and I'll stare at the Camera and wave!
I went to the closest car show I have ever been to yesterday and my dad is actually starting to attend them with me again. The show was small but it was about 1/2 mile from the house.
We went to a car/bike show in some mini mall in Slidell one summer. It was on that old main highway that goes across the lower lake. Seems like a bar was on the north side of the lot. Somewhere I have pictures. Closest car show down here is every winter five miles away. When a Harley repair shop was a mile away we went there a lot.
I think I missed ya Tedy. 3PM our time I checked. Two different guys with light colored cowboy type hats. Couldn't been you. These guys looked handsome!
Well I waved my hat a good long time with Deb standing beside me in a olive green coat, not only did I have the same hat but the same shirt on also....mite need a wash come this fall Show was great, bit of rain drizzle at the beginning but it cleared up fast. I'd say about 200 cars so pics will take awhile to load but for now here are the wagons that attended......... I saw this Toyota drive in on the web cam this morning...... Got a great shot of this Chev delivery from the door of the truck beside it..... More pics latter
