Took a ride to the u pull it with my dad this morning and they had 2 wagons there. Rare to find wagons here. They had a '95 Roadmaster and a '94 Caprice both same color. I still need the passenger flyaway trim but someone beat me to it, surprised no one got the driver side one. I took it for a spare and the 2 behind the rear doors, just to have. Cost me a whopping $4.89 for all 3 pieces. The Roadmaster had a nice class 3 hitch but the yard welded 2 rims to it to hold up the car. Had 3.23 limited slip rear but someone took it too. My dad robbed all kinds of elbows and couplings for the intake on our project '64 Chevelle to reroute it. All in all wasn't bad trip...except for my dad needing to put up with me!
Well, I guess if he didn't get around to doing you in at an early age, he has to end up keeping you around for now How does he come up with $4.89 for 3 pieces? People usually don't round off prices, unless their advertising a certain item. Or were you and the yard owner haggling down to pennies? If he would have asked an even 5 dollars for all three, neither of you would have had to go count pennies, nickles, and dimes. It doesen't look like there's anything vintage at all, in that yard. Or is there?
No haggling over price, he told me $4.89 and like a big spender I did hand him a 5 and tell him keep the change! As for anything vintage, there aren't many. I could count on both hands the number of cars 25 years old or older. I think the oldest thing I seen was a '73 to '75 Ford F100 pick up. Hurricane Katrina wiped out most of our junkyards and old car parts in this area.
