Ok so heres the deal i got a th350 bolted to 400sbc bored.030 for 406 While back i had the monte out and the trans was slippin someting awful.. so i took it out and rebuilt it put it back in (replaced the stall) and its still slippin, ok so i buy another trans that came out of a daily driven car (drove it to the shop parted it out) ok so lastnight put it in the monte and bam still doin the sammmeeee thing lol And there is a slight squeekin noise still heres a check list that ive done fuild checked vacuum line linkage trans lines converter mod valve I was told to try an shim the converter some to set it in the trans more. im so freakin lost an tired i dont know really the t56 swap is lookin more prettier every second
I'm not much of a tranny guy, but I noticed that my 4L60E was real sensitive to the correct fluid level. I had to be on level ground with a hot engine run through the gears. Even the slight incline where I normally work threw off getting it right.
hold it....hada thunk...(heaven forbid).. could it just be the 'convertor'...???? maybe its just pooched and isnt locking up properly?!
Phantom, you must have a set of biceps and abs like the Hulk after all that! I think the Rev is onto something. The two constants that you haven't mentioned are the converter and vacuum. You changed the trans, but those two?
Yes i changed the converter and made a new medal vacuum line.............. im tellin ya that t56 swap is sounding o so sweeter by the day
that's why I'm not a big fan of slush buckets(automatic). i would like to have a stick in all my rides but my back not in agreement with that.
The location you are pulling vacuum from off the motor, is it producing enuff vacuum or too much? I would say it looks to be an issue with the vacuum. For it to act the same way with both trannys after changing converters and vacuum tubes all while running off the 406 in both cases. What else could possibly cause the same results in both cases?
