Hi, I am in the middle of removing my '84 Ford Country Squire Front Drivers side door panel. I have unscrewed the arm rest and can see small hex nuts holding the armrest to the frame. I took those out too but it seems to be still screwed someplace in the front upper right corner. I took the single silver screw out that holds the controls and see another hex screw down in there but it does not look like to holds the arm rest to the door. Do I need to remove that to get the panel loose? Any other tricks I am missing here? The window giggles when it goes the last 40% down so I was going to take a look at the track. Thanks Steve
Yes, that hex you see under the control panel for the windows and door lock has to come out to remove the arm rest. You have to take off the puddle lamp, if equipped, or the block out panel if not, and there are a couple screws in there, too. Just remove every screw or hex bolt you find, and it will fall off into your hand when you get the last one out. Been there, done that. Also, check the condition of all the nylon nuts that all those screws go into. They can deteriorate with age.
