Hey ladies and gents, I just joined the forums so I thought I'd drop in and introduce myself. I'm a student @ Wayne State going for a degree in Computer Science, blah blah blah.

Anyway on to the good stuff: I have a 94 Caprice Classic wagon that was my daily until I drew a few too many donuts in local parking lots and had to park it due to some engine knock. Assuming I can snag a job this summer ( unemployed in michigan :banghead3: ) i'll be attempting to check out / replace the main bearings cause i love that boat! :dancing: Anyway i'll probably be around here every now and then looking for help, so i'll talk to you guys soon!

You're down to cramming month(s). I remember those last 5 or 8 weeks. We'll be here. That last bit is like training for the Olympics. Good luck. :Welcome:

That would have the LT1, wouldn't it?
Are you going to get a hoist and pull the engine yourself?:floor_jack:

:Welcome:to the wagon train, NYTEST! Among other things, I'm sorta looking for a B body myself...but a RMW. I hope you get that engine up and running soon. Those wagons GO and are the most comfortable ride I've ever had the pleasure to drive.

    EDIT:
Yeah, Andy...the 94 would have the LT1 IIRC.

Nice Caprice, they can take a lot, but you still gotta treat them well! Welcome!

:Welcome: I wish you the best with that engine work. Have you tried using a high octane fuel? Sometimes too much cheap gas can cause knocking. Enjoy the forum.

hey thanks for the warm welcome, guys!

first, yes it is indeed the LT1. 350 cubic inches of roaring tire destruction.
and yes, i do intend to pull the engine myself. possibly considering a few upgrades while its out including bore, cam, polish ports, valvesprings, rockers...

next: once i get this bada$$ back on the road, i'll try to play nice, its just so hard to do when she moves like she does.

also: yes i have tried high octane gas, the problem was more serious than could be solved using better gas.

lastly: i'm trying to upload pics but they wont stick in the garage for some reason. they're under the size req't and in jpg format...

I know what that's like. My 95 Roadmaster with the LT1 started to run super rough from ragging on it. I cracked my distributer. And anyone who has one knows they are expensive and a pain to get at. So I've snagged a minivan to do daily duties and my beloved can rest while I tend to her needs.
