Hello my 65' Belair wagon has its share of rust including floor pans spare tire well & front body mount supports. Should I repair what I have or are they readily available in better shape? Thanks Jim
filthy1. There are probably new floor pans on the market for your '65. If it were a '55, '56, '57 and you had deep enough pockets you could build a new one piece by piece. Check out your after market Bowtie store Jer
to the forum. Why oh why are members afraid to tell where they are? The government and the trash collector know. "from the rust belt of the USA" This could be almost anyplace not in a desert.
Welcome and reproduction floor pans available. Hi Jim and welcome to the Station Wagon forum! Always nice to have another 1960s GM long-roof around here! I just typed "1965 chevy bel air floor pans" into Google and got tons of hits. This parts are available as reproductions so no fuss and no worry of replacing really bad with - what ain't that good either. It depends on your budget, but if you can afford it give your long-roof and extra good does of TLC! Cheers, Edouard
Welcome to the nuthouse we call home! Sounds like you will fit right in! About your question: Yes, there are 65 Bel Air wagons available out there in good shape, but not as many as there are Impala wagons. It seems the survival rate amongst the lower trim levels is much lower than the higher. As long as your frame is still good, or at least fixable, I would put the effort into a car you know rather than taking on another project. That one may well have different, but equally expensive, problems that need dealing with. At least with your own, you know what you have to work with. It also seems a crying shame to give up on a wagon that has managed to survive well over 40 years! Loyalty should be rewarded, if possible. Let's see pictures of the old girl. We're good at spending other people's money, so we'll be GLAD to tell you what to do with the one you have! Good luck and have fun.
Any thing that interchanges with a Impala is avalable. Anything that is wagon specific ,you are going to have to find used or make it yourself. Ask me how I know. From the rust belt also.
