    Actually, maybe more than one.
First is a Reserve Deputy nearby. They don't get paid, but the potential is there to get on as a full time Deputy later on.
Second is a private security company in downtown Indianapolis at a hotel. Only problem is, the drive is about 55 miles. With my truck getting 13mpg (on a good day), that'll eat into the paycheck. The plus is, it's part-time weekend nights, so I could still get a weekday job part time.

I accepted a job as a local substitute teacher. It's only an on-call position, but at least its something.
We'll see how the interview goes in Indy tomorrow. My concern is that I'll be driving over an hour each way, midnight shift, for $10.00 per hour. I'll blow 1/3 of the pay in fuel.

I teach burglary skills at a midnight college!! Just kidding;)
I'm interviewing for a rent-a-cop position midnights. I teach Jr. High kids during the day, whenever they call me.

It's a sad state of affairs when police officers are getting laid off. Good luck with your job search and hopefully the right one will come along. I was talking to an old friend from school a while back that I had lost touch with. He was in the restaurant business for years and got burnt out and took a job as a security guard. A couple years later and he is now working private security for high end clients making 6 figures, but has to travel at a moments notice. So it sounds like you're keeping your options open, you might find a dream job out of these hard times. I'm still looking for mine.;)

I went for my interview. It's a long drive for low pay. It sounds more like a hospitality job than a security job. Then to top it off, my wallet got lifted while I was in the lobby. I've never had my wallet taken before!! It's possible it could have fallen out of my pocket as well. I had $60 and a credit card in it, along with all my licenses (EMS, Police, Concealed Weapons in 2 states & Driver) and Social Security card. Major Pain!! I think Someone is telling me something.:162:
