Does anyone here know which years and models of the GM box wagon doors can be swapped out for one another? Specifically, what whould fit on a '79 Olds Custom Cruiser?

    Any help would be appreciated!

I've got a collision parts database, but it wouldn't go back that far.
Your best bet is a auto salvage yard where they have 'interchange books' that have the information that you need.

If I had to guess, I would say that any GM box wagon door would fit in its same location on another GM box wagon. Looking at photos, I don't see any difference in body lines in the door area. Of course, trim and moldings are going to be different.

One note of caution: The last year for the box wagons, 1990, they had the shoulder belts attached to the front doors, so there's going to be some extra holes on the inside of the upper door frame.

Check with your local library's reference desk. They may have interchange manuals. Mine does.

I'm not completely sure about the 77-79 cars. I know for a fact that the 1980-90 B-body wagons all use the same doors and quarters (the Chevy sheet metal, in fact). I've looked at photos and it appears that the 77-79 cars have a slightly different feature line, but I can't say for sure without seeing the cars side-by-side.

Thanks for the replies. I'll start looking for the interchange books. My front doors are pretty badly rusted, and I need to find some clean ones to swap on to my girl.

Time to start hitting the salvage yards...
