http://www.fordcarclubs.org/ It's getting that time of year here. I'm attempting to get the ole Coooga ready for this one. It's only 160 miles from here. 45 years for Mustang, 50 for Galexie and for the wonderful marvelous Mercury 70 YEARS. I'd be willing to bet that I will have the only 82 Mercury Cougar GS Station Wagon there.:dancingparty:
With only maybe 50 on the road, and 2 of them here on the board, I wouldn't bet against ya! Have a good time, and get the camera batteries charged up for a workout!
Just for anyone that's interested, the date is Sunday, April 19th, 2009 at Knott's Berry Farm in Buena Park, Ca. (The show is in their large east parking lot across Beach Blvd from the park itself.) Most visitors park at the Buena Park Mall, one block east of the show at the corner of La Palma and Stanton.
Sweet...are you entering in the Wagon class? I entered in the Fairlane class, myself. But I'm sure you'll be easy to find.
Actually I entered it as a Cougar. I only sent in the registration form on the 27th. Hopefully they are not full.
Don't forget, anyone in SoCal area. Fabulous Fords Forever is this Sunday (Sunday! Sunday! Sunday), 4/19 at Knott's Berry Farm, Buena Park, CA.
Nice seeing everybody yesterday; great cars, good times:banana:, sweltering heat. <--That's me with the sunburn. --Hal
Yeah, you woulda thunk it was the middle of August. Hal was lookin' cool in his straw hat and shades, though.
It was fun. Met Hall and Krash along with a couple of FourEyed folks. I didn't count up all the cars but there was around 2,000 or so. 995 Mustangsmg: Only about a dozen wagons. 34 total Cougars including the lone Cougar wagon...MINE!No Edsels at all. That was surprising. There were no FWD Cougars present. It was a fun time. I left at around 2:30. I was beginning to melt. The car ran like a top both directions. I brought my son and his friend with me so there was around 700 lbs of passengers and cargo. I got right at 18mpg. I was expecting 20+. I kept it between 65 and 70 mph the whole trip. The cruise control worked great. The power steering rack got iffy. It wanted to stay on center and felt like it had a detent so it was two hand driving. The a/c worked pretty good. It must have a leak as it was ice cold on Saturday and only cool on Sunday. The crowd was split about 50/50 on my Cougar. Half new it existed and were curious as to why it didn't have a V8. None built that year. There were others in that half that didn't know the inline six was right. The other 50% thought that I had made it up from a Fairmont. The show only motivated me to get off my butt and cosmetically restore the car. I need much interior and exterior work.
