I used the rubber I purchased to make the rear window seal replacement to also make splash guards for the engine compartment (picture 1). These go in the front frame corners and keep the belts dry I'm assuming. I had the old left one, mostly intact, to use as a pattern. Pictures 2 and 3 show the frame holes (red circled) where the push in retainers go. The left side may not have ever had the guard and the red circle with the yellow circle inside is where I drilled a 1/4" hole that was absent. Pictures 4 and 5 show them installed. Both are identical except for the upper rail hole on the right side,which strangely is farther forward.
