This is something odd that’s cropped up. It happened in my old squire and it’s happening in my 85. The cruise modules’ pin for the brake switch is reading 5-6 volts. I believe because of this cruise will not engage. Was working last weekend and not now. The voltage only shows up when plugged in to the module. Unplugged is 0 until brake is applied. Before I go crazy…..is this right or wrong?
Do any of y’all have leds in the rear WITHOUT the resistor in the back, have functioning cruise control on country squire or colony park? Discovered that with resistors the 5v on brake signal and cruise functions. Without resistors voltage goes to 12 and will not work. However, without resistors the leds are on quite dim. Anyone lost cruise with leds?
Yeah, I mentioned in our PM mine did after installing LED bulbs, but I'm gonna be mad if in order to have LEDs, there has to be a resistor out there at the rear light sockets. My aim is to have working LEDs, including turn sigs/4-ways correctly working, just by having a resistor at each of the flasher cans, as a way to lower the amperage through the rear circuits, so the wiring lasts longer, and the grounds last longer also.
