So I just installed plasma LEDs for the rear tail and brake lights. They work great, nice and bright, but.......currently with the standard bulbs up front tail lights do not function in the side with the blinker on, but the tail returns on once blinker is off. My main issue is cruise control turns off completely when I turn on the parking lights. I thought it was a blown fuse or it just happened to fail then, but tested it with cruise on and turned on the parking, cruise stopped. I'm thinking I might have a slight short between parking and brake wire signaling cruise that I'm braking. But not to sure at the moment as this just happened. Any thoughts?

I don't know if this is the same as your problem, but I had a problem when I put LED circuit boards I designed in my tail lights. The polarity through the filaments of a standard 1157 bulb changed in a way I did not expect. Power was being routed through a resistor I used to reduce the brightness 50% directly to ground without passing through any LEDs. I added a diode to only allow the current to flow one way. Look for a ground problem.

Also, in case you weren't aware, you need to use a flasher that is not load-sensitive. The reduced current draw of LEDs causes problems with most flashers designed for use with incandescent bulbs.

so after lots of troubleshooting, rewiring, cutting wires, installing diodes.....nothing got accomplished. had to put the old bulbs back in. searching for a good detailed wiring diagram of the cruise control system so i can follow the wires and find out why it didn't work
