Country Squire and Country Sedan

    My friend own a 1964 Ford Country Sedan but this whole time i was under the impression that it was a Country Squire...what's the differentiating details?

    The difference was the 'wood' paneling. If it had the exterior 'wood' paneling, then it was a 'Squire' - a 'Country Squire' if it was the full-sized Ford. The Country Sedan was basically the same wagon, except it just had some chrome moldings on the outside that matched what was on the Galaxie 500 sedans, hardtops and convertible. The only equipment difference in '64 was that the Country Sedan came standard with just a 6-cylinder engine (but V8's optional). The Country Squire had a small V8 as standard (with bigger V8's optional)

    There were other 'Squires' in Ford's lineup over the years - a Falcon Squire came out in 1962. There were Fairlane Squires as well, in the mid-sized range. ONLY the BIG Ford got the 'Country Squire' name though.
