It all started off for me with El Caminos. Fun practical rides with a real hot rod flavor. So I bought and sold and drove a few....dozens!! I loved them when they had a topper because that really improved the usage so wagons were a natural progression. A friend sold me a 79 Chev wagon and I was hooked. Part carryall, sleep in the back for runs to the Wet coast, parts hauler people hauler etc preaching to the converted I'm sure. This started a run where people tell me where the next one is and I go and get it. Now I've pared down to one 83 Buick and my 65 two door Chevelle. The 65 is about to get the gusto: Vortec stroker and Tremec 5 speed, suspension, big discs all-around, etc etc. I have a 65 2drhtp that has a long-rod 400, full-man Turbo350, 4 discs, Konis, neg camber suspension etc etc so I have had practice. Injection is the biggie now. Can't stand the fuss with carbs compared to the fuelies so hot-rod injection is the natural step. I'm going to put a Cadillac intake on a 403 and stab that into my 83. Practical reliable and fairly fuel efficient and a big step away from ordinary...how does it get better than that!
Welcome, nice intro. Sounds like some cool wagons. Please share some photos of them for us to envy! I believe you will fit in fine around here!
Welcome GM wagon fan! Welcome! Always like to see more mature GM wagon fans around here. Do like your choice of make and year! Too bad you needed two wagons to do what I've done in one! Cheers, Edouard
WELL ! As for mature members, I thought we had that covered! to the forum. Great introduction and a good plan.
Welcome to the nuthouse we call home. I see someone above mentioned mature members. Disregard that. Noone has ever mistaken any of us for 'mature'. Crazy, maybe, but never mature.
