Since the Denali is in the shop today I backed the Custom Cruiser out of the garage for the first time in two weeks, took the kids to school and then came on in to work. Just went to lunch. I'd like to give a big THANK YOU to the schmuck that scratch/dented the door on my spotless 21-year-old Oldsmobile station wagon and didn't bother to leave a note! I'm sure to you it just looked like and old car, to me, it's a classic. I hope Karma catches up with so really soon you careless jerk!!! What's next????? :banghead3:
Sure sucks knowing that someone at work did it and didn't own up to it. On the bright side; that looks like something the Paintless Dent Removal guys can take care of.
NO NO! It was done at lunch. Sadly this happens. That is also why I park in the boonies, or on an end row far from others. Yes sometimes some idiot will still park a few inches away. I personally put a 6" scratch on my truck bumper end last week when I cut to sharp backing out from my car shelter. Of all things the Dodge plastic red bumper has a white gelcoat and primer. I said DARN!
Naw it happened this morning in the Dell parking lot. Saw it right away when I was walking out to the car.
Bummer...... PDR guys can take care of dents, but they can't fix damaged paint..... Mike, was this done in your employee lot? Maybe there's a bulletin board in the lunch room you put up a 'Thank you' note on......
That's actually a really good idea. I bet it was a visitor though. EVERYONE in my building knows my car.... Wonder why right? Kind of stands out in the sea of Hondas, pickups and SUV's.
Having been hit and run myself in parking lots I feel for you..... But considering it happened at work
Keep yer cotton pickin' hands to yourself. You don't need to be feelin' anyone. Now, where is this scratch and dent? I either see nothing or 10 possibilities on the billboard sized picture you posted.
Total leak of respect for someone else's property. It's so constant these days( I sound so old). But you see it ever day, some folks just don't seem to care! So sorry this happened to you sweet wagon, I know you'll make it right again but it sure is upsetting.
Sorry. I just saw the part about going to lunch. In a restaurant lot maybe. At work, upsetting. I could have driven for a month and not noticed that scrape!
That sucks, but be careful about putting up a "thank you" note that scolds your co-workers. Don't want to turn this into a trip to the Human Resources department, on top of being P.O.'d about dent.
That sucks, Mike. After all the work you put in getting that old car to look show room fresh, too. People just don't give a damn anymore! That happened to the Thunderbird, too. I came out to go work, and some @$$ had caught the corner of my big chrome bumper, and bent it all the way around! Had no choice but to drive to work like that, too. Luckily the rest of the car was so bad that nobody noticed! On your beauty, anything stands out like a sore thumb!
Bummer! Didn't somebody get your Roadmaster in that lot too? Nothing on security video? Let it be known that your car was damaged and ask if anybody has any info with a memo or board post anyway, somebody may rat out the person if they talked. One bright spot is that white is easy to match and when it's repaired the whole side of the car won't have to be painted like it would be to match a metallic. It's a little off-white actually, my daughter's Sunfire is Polar white and my car looks almost ivory colored next to it.
Funny you mentioned that.. I have four white vehicles, and every one if a different shade of white...no kidding! I was able to compound the scratches out last night and being a white car it looks fine unless you looks flat down the side, and then you can see two new shallow dents in that door. Glad the paint itself was not damaged. If it bothers me enough I bet the paintless dent guy could fix it, but they are shallow. It still updates me how little repsect people have for other's property. Oh well. -Mike
