Stupid Phil seen his shadow today, 6 more weeks of this crap. I know I will be shooting a few extra of his relation this coming thaw, just because of his prediction. Thats one thing I really enjoy doing, shooting Groundhogs or as we call them here, Woodchucks. My brother and I go out when ever he comes up, he has a left handed 7mm Mag rifle and I have a 222 Magnum. Its great relaxation to see blood, guts and fur spray once they get poked with a high grained dose of fast moving lead. :dancing:

So, governments spend billions and billions of dollars on weather prediction, satellites, sensors and people for an accurate weather forcasts. I think it all ought to be tossed in the ocean in favor of the "Old Farmers Almanac".

What the heck are we doing fooling around with a big rodent anyway. People are really very very gullible.

Yeah, I'm gonna pick up my copy of the Old Farmers Almanac, tomorrow. You can't even get a seasonal guesstimate from them in English.

I'm just amazed at our traditions. Phil doesn't predict anything but it's still a silly farce every year.

February must be a boring month. The Brits apparently have adopted Feb. 1 as call in sick day. 365,000 called in sick Monday morning.:biglaugh:

That's just a practice run for Tax day! Up here it happens around July 8th, when the rest of our income is ours to spend, not the governments to gouge. It's higher in the UK, so they'll have to wait until August.

    Eeeeasy Does it!!

I think you guys have had too much Winter! :coco: Getting that Cabin-fever!?! It's a long road to Spring up thar!!

When I was in USS NIMITZ, we had a morning brief for the admiral which always started with the weather. After listening to the meteorologist for 3 minutes about the clearing weather, the admiral said, "son, you should really step out on deck and look up before you give a weather forecast from now on!":slap: [It was raining, and continued to rain all day]

That is an understatement - Too much winter. Cabin fever? Oh Yeah! Below 5F, you barely have enough time to make it to the corner store or scrape off the car. Or you pop in an in-car heater and pay the hydro company. Almost everywhere you go, there are car lot plugins here, for the block heater(s).

You drop about $800 per person every fall for winter coats, boots, long janes, and long johns and wool socks and snow shovels. The rich(er) and infamous buy a new snow-blower for about $1,000 and life goes underground, with Phil. :rofl2:

I wonder why there's anybody in Canada living east of BC in the winter time.
