Better watch out you guys over there. Im going to be introduced to your Homeland security this November when I make my way for a three week holiday in Florida. Im going to the Turkey run at Daytona. Anyone else going? Would be good to meet anyone if they were. I arrive the day before thanksgiving. Will anywhere be open that day so I can get groceries and stuff, or am I going to have a mad rush to stock up as soon as we land?
You'll be fine. There will be no shortage of food and good times while you are there. This isent the first time they have held this event. You will have a rocking time. I did it a couple years back and cannot wait to get back.
Yep, Ive got 5 days before I fly out to the States and Im really looking forward to it and the show in particular. Rented a vert so I can see the sun and after Daytona Im off to drive the keys for a couple of days as I have wanted to drive eight mile bridge as one of my must do things in life. I will be sure to take a few pics and post up any relevant pics on here.
Well, I dont know about a 8 mile bridge but the view on the 7 mile is awesome. I was dissapointed in Key West though. Classic tourist, rented convertible probably get a Sebring going up and down I-95. Get the insurance cause you will take it on the beach and have cash ready so the you can pay the locals to pull you out when you get the car stuck in the sand. You will have a blast. The turkey run is awesome, no other words but that. When you get to So. Flordia just admire Miami from the interstate, dont get cute and go to south beach or we will probably hear about you on the news. Keep on going, wave when you see Hialeah Florida ( I have some friends there) and take some good photos of the Rod Run and your road trip. And welcome to America, cooperate with customs, they are there to protect us as well as yourself while you are here. And on your trip down to the keys, watch out for the little deer. They think very highly of them there.
Well, either he hit one of the deer and is in jail or has so much info he is still working on getting it back to us.
Hehe, no chance, I only just got in home in England tonight, within the last hour too. Got some great pics to share. Let me get straight then I'll post them up and give you the link.
Totally amazing show and I cannot recommend it enough. Some outstanding cars, trucks and a multitude of spares and tradrs. Some of the wagons were superb and I never took pics of all of them due to differing reasons, one being insufficient battery power on my camera. But Ive loaded a few into my gallery for now. http://stationwagonforums.com/forums/gallery/browseimages.php?do=browseimages&c=4&userid=28
Thanks for sharing the pictures. This one is my favourite one out of the ones you posted. This one is interesting a Trail Blazer made out to look like a wagon
Yeah, that top one was sweet, The headlining had a cushioned flamed surfboard on it that matched the exterior paint job. Ive added some more pics recently, my personal favourite was this 63 Impalla which appeared to be a Chip Foose car, however I could not confirm it. But it was real nice.
Just uploaded many pics to my site. Get yourself a cuppa, you may be a while. http://www.f-r-c800.co.uk/daytona1.htm
