Alternator question

    So I am keeping my old school solid state type voltage regulator, I have switched over from generator to alternator..........question is I am thinking about going to at least a 100 amp Alternator, will my old school voltage regulator suffer, ie not last as long, blow up etc, LOL Ryan

    More info would be needed to know the answer. I have no idea what year car you have, or what model regulator you have that is solid state. Usually, the regulator is matched to the appliance, but sometimes you can get away with a mismatch, as long as the mismatch isn't severe.
