    Hi,

I have a problem with what I was told is the brake hydraulic valve that is linked by a valve to the carburetor? What happens is when I apply the brakes the car begins to cough and then dies on me...

Have you replaced this valve? I'm trying to locate it and replace it...?

    I'd appreciate some direction.

    Thanks,
    Erik

Check the vaccume line well to the booster. Do you have a strange noise(hissing or just plain weird) when the brakes are applied INSIDE the car? Do you have cruise control?
