I finally tracked down the weatherstrips that seal the tailgate glass, now my question is, how do I remove the chrome strip that they are supported by? Below is a pic of what I am talking about, it's the chrome strip that runs along the top of the tailgate (below the Tiki guy and above the tailgate glass crank). There must be an easy way? Thanks! On my '67 Merc, there are clips that slide in a channel on the back of the trim. They have studs that go through the top of the tailgate. The trim nuts are a bit of a pain as I had to remove the inner panel to get at as the access holes and they can be a tight squeeze for a guy like me with broad hands.

    Hope this helps you out!

I think your wagon uses the same moulding as my 67 vista. If so , there is a small screw at each end of the moulding. Remove those and your moulding should come off with a little prying. And your weatherstrip is attached to the moulding.

Thanks I will take a close look at it this weekend. I had a hunch it was something like that. Looks like it'll be tough to get to on my car. I had the inner panel off not too long ago, should have checked it out then.
