I have a 67 coronet wagon with a stuck rear window, that before my kids got into it was working fine, slow but fine.
What happened was that while they were cleaning the rear windows one of the girls wanted to lower the window and while that was happening the other decided to try and open the tail gate with the window half way down.
I have taken the covers off to look around and test, I get power to switch, I get power to motor, I have tried jumping the safety switch on the inside of door.
But all I get is a very slight click from the motor, the interior lights will dim as you try to get glass to lower or raise.
Do any of you have any thoughts on my next step to repair this?

Almost like the ground got stressed and let go, or a wire got pinced somehow...did you try lubing the mechanism with some white lithium grease? Sounds like it my be stuck in mid pivot point too.

Get the inner metal plate off the tailgate. That will expose the regulator, motor, and glass. On each end of the regulator arms theirs either a 1/2" or 9/16s" blind nut that holds the window to the regulator. Remove both nuts W/ open end or box end and then pry the threaded stud and regulator arm out of the steal part of the window frame and ease the window down to the bottom stops in the T-gate and open the Gate. Now remove the glass. The body of the regulator must be grounded to the T-gate also. The 1st part iz the PITA, The rest iz easy:D Jer

With the gate open and the glass loose from the regulator, Pull the glass straight out and set it some place VERY safe and WELL protected! Is there a "tip switch" on the drivers side of the T-gate? (their should be) No need to remove the motor or regulator...YET... Make a "Jumper" with two Spade connectors and a 3"-4" piece of 18 or 20 gage wire and bypass the tip switch. If the regulator will go up and down at this point you've solved your problem. If not we move on:evilsmile: If you have to make a trip to the auto parts store for those spade connectors Get the (Blue) shielded ones They'll work for size. Pick up 4 allagator clamps(rouch Clips:biglaugh:) while you're there. You need to make a set of Mini jumper cables and the best way to do that is with a couple sections of Red and Black 18 gage wire. (Mine are 8' long and 30 years old) Letz cover one base at a time(y), Jer
