Hello, I have a 1964 Pontiac Bonneville Station Wagon, was looking for left inner tie rod, but the site had no pictures, nor normal GM/Saginaw part numbers for reference. So I am at a loss. Maybe you can inform me on this question. My CD Pontiac Manual shows "all" 64 wagons as "Safari", yet it goes on to reference my 2835 as a Bonneville "Custom" wagon. So the confusion is that I do not know if I should be looking for "Safari" or "Bonneville" parts for my car. I got further confused because Drums for a "Safari" are 9" drums, and the ones on my car are 11", same as Bonneville. Can you please pass on your expertise as to whether I should get parts for a "Bonneville" or "Safari" wagon, or is a combination of either, depending on the job? It appears there is a difference at times when looking for parts.
Welcome to the SWF, Chamariver. First, I'd suggest you do an 'intro' thread in the 'Welcome Wagon' section. We're very glad you came to the Station Wagon Forums, but we like to get to know our new members a bit first. If you were new to a neighborhood, would you walk right up to your next door neighbor and ask to borrow a power drill before properly introducing yourself and shaking hands? As to your question, you have what you have. You have a Bonneville Safari. For the suspension / steering parts, I'm pretty sure all the big Pontiac wagons would have the same stuff, whether is was a Catalina Safari or a Bonneville Safari. Just don't try to install Tempest Safari parts on it. So, to finish off, if there are 3 choices for you, for instance 'Catalina'; 'Bonneville'; and 'Safari' - pick the 'Safari'. P.S. My second car I ever owned was a '64 Catalina Ventura 2-dr hardtop - in 1970. Marshall
