Would the original way back area of this wagon be fully carpeted ? Carpeting over the interior rear wheel wells looks especially 0ff to me. My guess is that from the factory they were simply painted. Regardless, this is a very nice wagon running a Ford 292 and not some LS whatever.

Oddly enough the carpet, which you mentioned is not correct. The load floor would have been some form of linoleum, the rear wheel wells covered in a molded rubber type vinyl material. If memory serves me correctly, I think this is the same car I saw at a show that I went to with Jeremiah a few years ago. I remember the owner had a for sale sign in it then. If I were interested in this car I would do a complete body and vin inspection. The entire wood tone appliqué if I remember is just a graphic design laid along the side and rear of the body. There is no Country Squire badging, and the interior is completely wrong. I think for $35,000 I would want something a little bit closer to what a Country Squire should be. I didn’t get a good feeling from this car, but that’s just my humble opinion.

So the 'wood' is actually a simulation of a simulation.

Ah yeah. I gotta think about that for a minute, but I think you summed it up. Lol. The car personally was not impressive.

I totally get what you are saying, even the surround molding is part of the decal, which would not have been authentic back then. So yes, a simulation of a simulation!
