    Hello,

Has anyone put bucket seats from a late model Mustang in a 1965 Ford Wagon? I'm looking at putting seats from a 2006 Mustang in my Ranch Wagon.

    Thanks for the help.

You will need to build custom seat brackets, as Mustang brackets are made only for the Mustang's custom floor stamping. But because of how the Ranch Wagon's floorpan is stamped, it should not be too difficult.

Keep in mind the 2006 Mustang seats are lap belt to seat which means the seat and seat brackets have to transfer the load from the female portion of the seat belt latch to the floor in a crash. Your '65 Ford has the female portion of the seat belt bolted directly to the floor.

Unfortunately, in getting rid of the stock brackets to put the seats onto fabbed brackets, he will have to have any belts he installs be bolted to the floor. I sold seats from an '07 that my friend bought for his 2000 Ranger, and in looking at the way everything was designed, the female (inboard) buckle had its an hour slide back and forth with the seat movement. So, perhaps, you might be able to modify the factory rails, or make pedestals, for them to bolt up, thereby preserving the belts.
