And now for something completely different http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1997...5?pt=US_Cars_Trucks&hash=item3a80e90f83#v4-39
We've seen pics of this one before. In fact, it's in our gallery. The only one like it. I'm a bit perplexed at the E-bay listing. I see no mention of any reserve being 'met' or 'not met', and I don't see any mention of the auction being a 'no reserve' auction. Now, the question of value.......... Anyone hazard a guess?
The Boston police or some other Boston area law enforcement agency uses those wagons. I saw a few on the news during the bomber chase coverage.
Looks OK, but I am not a fan of the small pieces of trim that keeps on going beyond the back doors... what was the purpose of that?
Are you sure, BV? The ad text make it clear that it was still a regular CV sedan while it was with the police force. Only after it went into private hands was it converted to a wagon. Looks like the standard door trim. I'm thinking the outer skin of the door may have been shortened to match up with the new quarter panel.
He is asking $8900 on Hemmings. I am willing to bet if this auction doesn't meet his secret hidden in his brain reserve, he'll pull the auction. I'm not even going to attempt to bid a paltry $2000-$2500 which is about all I'd be willing to spend on it. It really needs Grand Marquis rear doors, or at least trim up and refinish the lines so they look like Grand Marquis doors. Existing CV doors Marquis doors
