Fully optioned to include power glass sunroof, but still with split bench front seat. https://newyork.craigslist.org/stn/cto/5734702110.html
Split bench, but at least an 8-way driver's power seat. And I'm never seen that style Pontiac wheel...it's really cool.
That is a good looking GA. I tend to not look at the 1980 models due to it being the 1st year for CC Q-jets and Distributors on Pontiac V-8's. For some reason Bench seats are pretty common on 1980 Grand Am's, and that is the Pontiac Sport steering wheel for RWD cars from 78-86, the color and horn button change over the model years but not much else. I do prefer them over the standard and custom cushion wheels of the same vintage. They also seem to be less prone to the Black ooze seepage that the other wheels tend to develop. Here is the 1978 tan one I recently picked up to put in My Safari. I would prefer a round center emblem over the octagonal one these wheels have, and I do have a Black Pontiac T1000 horn button with a round emblem I may swap in.
I see cars running all the time in ad pics, that's so they can show the engine runs and so they can get pics of the gauges functioning. Why a boost gauge? Maybe he just uses it for vacuum? Could be a hypermiler or might actually knows what a good tool one is for engine diagnostics, and you don't even have to plug it in to a computer.
I actually did not look at the asking price, that is about X2 what they seem to go for near me in simalure condition. I have no Idea why it would have a boost gauge added to it? maybe a Vacuum Gauge? I am also confused about the actual tramsmission in the car, ad says 301 T200 car and then states New T400? The G-force dual exhaust trans X-member is a nice and spendy piece. http://crossmembers.com/products/?find_make=pontiac-model&find_model=grand-prix&find_year=1980
The gauge will show vacuum/no vacuum during normal driving to indicate any engine problem that comes up, but did these model year Grand Ams have the turbo'd 301?
The vac/boost gauge might also be there if the 'Economy' gauge is part of the cluster, but is crapped out.
Nope, just the Trans Am came with that. The car has a tach, no economy gauge. Strange to see a vacuum gauge, although I run one in my '73 as an indicator of health for the engine.
No bucket seats, and the column shift detract from it. But otherwise a nice looking example, it even still has its California emissions intact
