Looks nice but seller will have it a while at that price. (And these ads where you do not get a single full pic of the car drive me crazy.) https://www.ebay.com/itm/1980-Pontiac-Firebird-Esprit-/273067292890?_trksid=p2141725.m3641.l6368
Especially, when the hood's half open. She must be specializing in girl cars. It's plausible that the canary bird was hers to drive. But, that blue Camaro is a head scratcher. The canary is also likely to have a six banger, since nothing is mentioned otherwise
I agree, also you can't even tell what wheel are on the car? Should be body colored Snow Flakes but who knows. I don't think I have ever seen a car ad where you can not see even 1 side shot of the car. At least the Camaro auction has 1 non center shot were you can see what wheels it has.
I think the seller has added some pics - some showing the whole car now. Click on the main image to see the gallery. Brochure car......
Looks like a 301 4bbl car suprizing, that was the top drive engine option in a Esprit that year (or Chevy 305 in some markets) it does look like a well optioned surviver, they may get near the BIN price with the added pictures.
Interesting. Note that in the brochure pic, it appears it does not say Esprit under the Firebird emblem on the front fender.
You always have to take the brochure pic's with some skepticism, they usually are preproduction cars and may or may not be exactly what is put in production. All the pictures I see on the web have the Esprit emblems on the front fenders. That car is loaded, Power Windows & Locks, gauges, tilt, Cruise, AM/FM Stereo, & rear window defroster. Could be more but that is what I can see from the pic's.
While I personally believe the car is worth at least X2 what it was bid to, it does nor surprise me. It is a very Nitch version of the car that was marketed towards women when it was new (as were the Blue & Red Versions) So the models do not have the appeal of a Trans Am or Formula Models,
It's still rare and original which makes it a collector's item. Despite it being marketed for girls, nowadays it hardly would be noticeable, if men were to drive them. Back then when the car was new, if you were male and were to drive one of those, it would have been best to wear a catcher's mask and football helmet, if you didn't have A/C. Otherwise, an open window could invite a flying fist
My sister got a new Firebird in '77 or '78 I think it was. Did my brother-in-law buy her an Esprit? Nope. He was a former '65 GTO owner. She got a Formula with the Olds 403......
