Yeah it’s crazy what these Bobcat, and Pinto wagons are bringing. I had a ‘79, and should have kept it.

Did you have a Bobcat or a Pinto? Was the interior crazy like this one?

Yes mine was a Pinto, the interior was identical, only mine was blue plaid to match the light blue with wood. I think that interior came in maybe 4 colors.

The super rare Bobcat was the hatchback with wood. Think those were only a few years, ‘76-‘77 I know for sure. I’d love one of those. IMG_3381.jpeg

Bill - you and your wood! I'll bet you don't remember they also gave the woody treatment to Chevettes and the early Omnirizon's too.... I remember seeing one Chevette woody but never an Omni.

Haha. Yeah I’ve seen a couple of woody Omnis. I also saw new on the showroom floor a $h/+muckle tan Chevette with wood. I think a lot of the Omni Horizons got the 1968 Park Lane convertible converted wood treatment. There were only a handful of those wood sided Park Lanes made, but I’ve seen a ton of them. Oddly enough if I ever bought a Chevette, I want the “Scooter” no passenger sun visor, and a metal box where the rear seat should be. That had to be the absolute low point of Chevrolet self esteem. Those are quite the cult car now to own, but when I saw one new I thought it was the ultimate punishment device. That, or a ‘76 Sandpiper. Another lovely Chevette.

1976 Chevette “woody coupe” lovely huh? At least with the Bobcat you could get body side moldings, and it had chrome surrounds. This just looked stenciled on IMG_3384.jpeg

There was a low milage, average optioned one here in AZ at one of the auctions last year that went for $15k. You just don’t see these.
