Hey guys, So this car looks super clean from the outside but I knew of a horror that was lurking! This car had a homemade patch installed on the bottom of the DS rear quarter where the plastic storage compartment tub is, and it felt soft, when I pulled it apart, I could see the garage floor! Thankfully, the quarter itself looks to be fine, just the bottom piece needs to be fully cleaned and welded back together, I know that no one makes any patch panel pieces for this car so, I'm just going to bend one up myself! Does anyone have any tips on to make this as clean as possible? Thanks!
It looks bad, but actually shouldn't be too bad. It appears that it's mostly flat and there aren't a bunch of complicated angles.
You're right! Here's the repair i came up with, it's definitely not the prettiest, but it gets the job done for now. I just need it to pass a safety inspection! I used gravel guard on the bottom and in the wheel well... came out nicely.
