Looks like it has survived well interior wise, faded carpet to me shows it original but it has that "Bondo Blue" new paint IMO. One pic tell me it's thick, lines do not line up, gaps are wrong, rocker trim out of whack. looks like chips in the paint opening door because of.....

Even with some of the flaws, that is a NICE interior for it's age all around, but come on, it would not have been that hard to do something else with the after market gages rather than putting them on the passenger side of the console under the dash....I guess the wife watches those. I'll bet in the drivers seat driving they can't be seen without bending over to the side.... maybe the far right one can be

Mustang/Fairlane added non function hood scoop was a bad idea also IMO.

Have to admit, it was loaded for it's day considering boring split bench and roll up windows was the norm for this this car when new........ but the looks of "Bondo Blue" would make me suspicious.

Since this is a '70, I have to weigh in.

First, this is not a Galaxie, it is an XL. The former Galaxie 500 XL became its own series in '67 as simply the XL.

That engine call-out is not original. They were not used on the big Ford in 1970.

    MAK: It does have AC.

Those gauges just might be the authorized dealer accessory gauges (available for any Ford in '70), and that might be a "recommended" location. At least I've seen them there before in a '70 Ford, but not with the optional console.

I've not seen a great many 1970 Fords with power windows, but I do have the impression that they were more common in convertibles than in hardtops and sedans (and wagons).

Note also that the driver's side bucket seat is power.

Other options of note include the AM/FM stereo radio and the 3-spoke rim blow steering wheel.

And I agree. The scoop has to go. Once upon a time, the XL convertible was about the cheapest used convertible you could buy. Of course, $12.5K is still relatively cheap for a convertible these days.

These cars are not very rust resistant, and it's in Poughkeepsie, not Albuquerque.

The low res pictures do nothing to help sell the car. The "barn find" thing kind of loses its meaning when the car has obviously had body work and been repainted. I agree with Tedy on the body. You would have to inspect the body closely. IF it the work was done properly that color probably looks really sharp in person. Given that it is at a used car lot with mis-matched tires I would guess the body work was quick and dirty, but I've been wrong before.
