Luv 65-67 stacked headlight Pontiacs and the white over that blue is just outstanding IMO. Checking my mega million before we take the Safari to the local Cars and Coffee tomorrow.

And better yet, that white isn't moisture-trapping vinyl

And WHY was it special-ordered? It was a special order because for the 1965 model year, the Bonneville Custom Safari was only available as a 2-seat model. If you wanted a big Pontiac 3-seat wagon, you had to get the Catalina Safari.

But maybe this particular special order got the Pontiac numbers guys to think about all this, because the very next year, the third seat was STANDARD in the Bonneville Safari. Go figure............

The amount of documentation that survived on this car over the near 60 years since it was specially ordered and essentially became a retired side-house-stored run-of-the-mill family and trailer hauler is astounding. Seeing the letter that PMD actually sent back to the owner is impressive, try getting any kind of questions answered by the manufacturer on a modern car.

A lot of work went in to making this car look as good as it does and it sure is gorgeous.
