NOTE: This is not my car, nor do I know the seller. I'm merely sharing an ad that I found online.

Sad to see a Buick in that condition.

    Dear Buick station wagon fans,

*Sniff* . . . . Sad to see a Buick wagon left in a condition like that. Hope someone can rescue it.

    Cheers, Edouard

Looks like those may have been spirited across the border. Vector light bars are very uncommon in Canada. I haven't seen them on any Canadian interceptors apart from Ontario Provincial Police and theirs were red and white. I've never seen any blue/red Vectors other than on U.S. agencies.

Maybe he has a snowplow as they use blue lights on snowplows in ON, not sure about other areas.

Vector lighting would be pretty pricey for a snowplow. Not impossible but I bet it would be extremely uncommon. Judging by the picture those are blue down the right side and red down the left with a blue one at point. Blue is OK on a plow but red is a definite no-no. That's very much a police bar. I'd say either he pulled a great heist on a parked cruiser or that was an eBay find.

...looking closer at the photo, there are two sets of Vectors back there. I'd say this guy has an interesting story or two to tell.

About 2 years ago the Ontario government changed the standard. Now most, if not all, Police cruisers have the red and blue lights. Hate the ones where both sides flash together. They show up as purple in the distance, and purple is the one unregulated colour!

As for why the light bars, he may well have something to do with the picture car end of the film business. Different types of bars are common for those guys to own, and the cars have to be correct for their locale.

I've noticed that we're using red and blue lights now but I've yet to see any Vector bar sets anywhere since the OPP abandoned the red/whites. Everyone is switching to low profile strobe sets as they're lighter, provide less airflow restriction, and draw less power than a rotary light. I have an enormous collection of photos of police vehicles from across North America and Vectors are pretty rare in Canada. Have you got those Vector sets in your area?
