Trying to find out info here, and figured you folks could help. Me and anothe guy at work are trying to come up with the name for a certian Edsel wagon from 1958. It was red/white with a brown western theme interior. Does this sound like anything you know? He has a picture he is trying to find. It was seen at the Lemon Grove Edsel collection here in PA, but they are closed now, and removing all the cars. It sounds familiar to me, but I can't find anything on the net about it. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!
Yes, that's the one I keep thinking of, because he is 95% sure it was a 2 door wagon, the Roundup being the only 2 door wagon Edsel offered. But I'm not having much luck finding interior pics to confirm it's what I'm looking for. I can picture it, sorta, in my head, because I have seen it before. That's what bothers me the most, lol, because I can usually spout off what something like this is lickety-split.
I sem to recall an Edsel wagon ad with a 'special' interior like the one you describe. I believe it had a photo of a cowhide-covered door panel I'll search around and see if I can find it again..... Marshall
Just checked a bit - nothing so far. I know I saw a pic of a cowhide-trimmed Edsel door panel just a few days ago, but darned if I can remember where..... It wouldn't have been on a Edsel Roundup, though. The Roundup was their 'cheap' 2-door wagon. The one I'm thinking about was a rather well-equipped 4-door. From what I'm remembering about it, it sounded like it was a specially-trimmed interior done either by a dealer, or comissioned by a private owner. Don't think it was an 'official' Edsel option......looked nice, though.
That's another thing I was thinking, dealer type of package, like Yenko. Thank you for looking for it for me.
Found something....... http://www.automotivetraveler.com/i...wagons&catid=168:not-found-on-ebay&Itemid=345 Scan down the page to the Edsel. Unfortunately, no pic of the interior, but it's got some info on it...... More info on the same wagon, with a pic! http://www.hemmings.com/hcc/stories/2010/06/01/hmn_auction1.html But for some reason, they won't copy here.......
OK, let's try new post... Wagon's also on the Hooniverse...... http://hooniverse.com/2011/03/02/hooniverse-wagon-wednesday-the-wagons-at-orlando-classic-cars/ Of course no interior photo of the cowhide - again! OK - let's try again, shall we? SUCCESS!!!
wow, man, awesome! Thanks for finding that! i will be sure to show my buddy that when I get in to work tomorrow
That is an extremely informative site, in which I have been up and down several times to no avail. OH well. I did see a photo my buddy brought in of the car, and it is a red/white 2door wagon. But no pics of the interior.
