Hi,will make this short. First car I remember was our 1969 country squire,429 4v, loaded, powder pale blue, ect. So,some how I found my first one,in 1981ish, A twin to our first car in color and options.parents made me sell it............,2nd a few years later,it was hit and the engine was a donor to a 1970 Mercury Cyclone GT. . I have always loved woody wagons, mostly full size. Forgot to mention,we had a 1972 pinto squire ,red,4 speed, black with the oundstooth option,a/c. It wa sin the family till the late 80's,dad donated it,I was upset after it was gone. It had over 170k on it. Now,I just bought a 1969 Colony Park, 1977 Dodge Monaco wagon 6 passenger, and possibly a comet 202 wagon. They were from an estate sale. As life would have it,I recently sold a Mercury Cyclone on e-bay,so,was in the mood for more projects.....................Thanks,and will try and stay in the loop!
Welcome aboard Scarey. Sounds like you have the wagon-disease real bad. It's nice to know there are a whole bunch of us also out there. I guess like our wagons, we are carriers
loop Thanks,I suppose you mean pics of the crowd!.Well, it will be a few weeks,as I need to pic them up 150 miles away. They will probably be sold. I am looking at a 1973 Country Squire I am really really interested in............It is well loaded,429,tilt,cruise,pw,pl,am-fm,ps,ect. White, and wood is nice. Just hope it is there when I get to it!. I really have jumped the gun here a little. waiting for the funds to clear on the cyclone. The 69 colony park has sat in Ca under a tarp for 20 years, its loaded too,n code 429,52k miles, tilt, cruise,pw,pl,ps,am 8 track, wood is quite faded,no rust that I could see but the hood is checked. The dodge is odd, copper in color,am-fm-8 track, tilt, cruise, 72k miles.Headliner is shot...... the 65,well,it has a 4 inch hole in the left hand front floor, its white,ps,auto,and............rats living behind the air cleaner, its a 289 car. They are all very straight body wise. I woder what the are worth?
the 74 the 74 Squire I have plans for. It will be a keeper! Have always wanted a clean rust free white, copper,or light blue loaed squire, now that I am in my mid years. I have mixed feelings for the 69 colony,as I may be more than I want to do. Will keep you all posted! (we have 8 other vehicles in our nest)
Hey scarey1, welcome to the forum! I sure like your '69 Colony Park! One of my all time favorites! Pics! Pics! Pics! If you think you might sell your CP, let me know...seriously, I would love it! Just make sure it is dirt-cheap! David
to the wagon train, scarey. I like the sound of that 69 CP. That year was a non emission year for that 429. That should be a good engine if it isn't frozen up real bad.
hello and welcome to the forum looks like you've made a few friends. As for staying IN the loop that shouldn't be a problem as most of us are a little LOOPY
Hi all! Well,I traveled to L.A. to deliver a car I sold. While there,I looked at and bought the 1973 Ford country squire !, I was told it was a 429 car,to my (good) suprise, it is a 460 car!,(What month did the 460 become optional?) I bought it,and Wed, I am making another trip to pick her up! She's the one I am keeping! I can't begin to describe the outstanding condition it is in..........It was garaged its whole life until 2 years ago, it has 107000 on the clock. I would swear it was 07000 miles!, The original owner died in the 70's, wife never drove it,second owners drove it once,as it was for there daughter, and was too big. I just don,t know!. it was medium loaded for the day, Pw,Pl,A/C,light group, delay wipers, factory rear coil air bags, trailer tow package, and the Brougham package in med brown. I will post pics soon! I am really in need of a few parts, 1, Door arm rests, does anyone know where to find these? I need the ones that hold the switches, they run the length of the door, and are plastic. I am game for any color at this point. I need Lh front, and both on the rh side, would buy all 4. Oh,does anyone know if electric mirrors were an option in late 73? Build date 7/73. Its odd,it has the caped mirrors, and an electric mirror joy stick. But,it also has a rh manual joy stick on the dash...........odd Thanks all, pics coming soon! I am sooooo excited!
Good find. Just the shear volume of vehicles in the LA area make it a good hunting ground. Also, because of there being so many cars, there's lots of competition for sales, so prices stay relatively low. Where abouts in LA did you find it? There have been a couple posted recently - one out in Thousand Oaks IIRC.
