I thought it was time to post some pictures of the "fleet" -- '63 Mercury Colony Park, '60 Mercury Commuter, '61 Buick Special. I've owned the Colony Park for about 3 years. It was a primarily a California/Arizona car. It just turned 96,000 last week during a trip to the beach -- and still running strong! 390 4bbl, PS/PB, AM/FM radio, A/C, 9-passenger seating. I found the Commuter earlier this year on eBay. A real sweetheart: just under 77,000 miles. 312ci, 6-passenger -- and I have receipts from the original owner (including oil changes) since day one! The Buick Special was an emotional purchase (my parents had one when I was a boy). 215ci aluminum V-8 (you gotta love it), 58,000 miles. Found it in Texas (via California and NY). More info to follow -- enjoy the pictures! -- Steve
to the wagon train, scohrs. Some really nice wagons you have! Will we be seeing that 60 Commuter soon?
ah! So YOU bought that particular Commuter! Helluva nice car...we had it on here somewhere with tons of pix. Probably the pix are gone now. You have some excellent wagons, scohrs!
Hey scohrs - nice wagon stable you have going there. Is the burled-looking woodgrain on the CP a special paint job?
Actually, it's vinyl - my body man found it when we worked on the CP last winter. I thought it was cool looking (and different, as the purists painstakingly point out whenever I'm at a show). But I figure: I'm having fun -- and isn't what this is all about?!
k...im biased...ive got a 64 CP.. aint as purdy as yours tho.. from the farside excellent start to a collection!!!!.....
to the funny farm and because no one else ask, whats the deal with the blue wagon in the background of the pic of the CP????? Oh and by the way nice fleet you have there!!!!!
