    With my "handle", I'm sure you can anticipate my idea of the ultimate wagon...
    http://www.streetlegaltv.com/forum/case-mondays-did-ford-build-65-a-5708.html

    For decades, these cars (the original two) were considered the stuff of urban Mustang legends, but it turns-out they were commissioned by an ad-exec (not by Ford), and the proto-ponies were built by the styling-salon Intermeccanica. They are easily distinguished from later custom copies by their side-mount fuel-filler doors, as opposed to the standard Mustang-logo cap between the tail-lights.

    As a foot-note, apparently the prototypes were "evaluated" by Ford, and summarily dismissed. I don't know about the resta' y'all, but I just think that Shelby-clone would look soooo good on me...

    Edit...I just can't get the image out of my mind of one of these cars cuttin' smoking cookie burn-outs, with the kiddies in the back in their 'jammies, jumpin' up-and-down and yellin' "Do it again, daddy"!!.. :D..

    Edit II...After further snoopin' around, howza'bout a true meeting of the minds? A Mustang sedan-delivery, with a Fairmont butt...

    Yeah!

    I thought I was breaking new ground adding a Capri Console and Ebrake in mine, hah! I know nothing. And parts from at least 8 other fox bodies :)evilsmile:)

    Stangflt, these fox bodies are so easy to modify, that it inspires the imagination, especially with so many Stang guys modding theirs. It's probably why I love mine, one trip to a junkyard and a guy could come back with a set of hideaway headlights from a 1980 Fox Tbird.

    Take this one for example::rofl2:

    Powered by an aluminum 1,100 CID tank engine! :rofl2:

    Did you know that Maybach built tank engines, back in Dubbya Dubbya Two?

    How about a tank hemi:

    An unusual crankshaft construction. Looks like the middle counterweight was also used as a mainbearing journal?:

    Actually, they all are main journals. The journals are that huge so that the speed of the actual bearing surface is much slower, and could withstand the enormous stresses of the torque from the pistons.

    On the contrary. The speed is much higher. To give an example, measure the speed of a wind generator propeller at the tip, as well as at the other end. The bearing surface area is also greater. Which raises friction. But, distributes the load, reducing wear. The higher friction is irrelavent to an engine which operates only at low speeds, anyway. This set-up would be unthinkable for hot-rodding.

    Oh, yeah, you're right. Pardon me while I uncork my head...*POP* It would be faster in a linear sense, as one given point goes farter away from the C/L of the crankshaft's rotational center. Duhhhhhhh.... <<--me

    I beg your pardon, Sir! These engines were never fueled with flatulent gases.

    I happen to know they were fueled with propane when they were at the factory (true fact, it saved on using diesel), but, yes, I missed a key.
