Still haven't seen the 67 Belvedere II wagon I bought in June. A buddy will be bringing it from Massachusettes to Virginia in late August or September. I do know I'll need to replace a rusted tailgate. So I've been making some inquiries.
I searched through all the vendors at the Chrysler show at Carlisle, PA, but the only tailgate I saw was for a 63-64 Fury wagon. Next week I'll be at the Mopar Nationals in Ohio, and I'll take a look at vendors there.
Meanwhile I've been checking many of the usual sources for decent vintage sheet metal.
I called Memory Lane, Speedway, County Line, Atlas and Pearsonville salvage yards in California, Desert Valley Auto Salvage in Arizona, Wildcat Auto Wrecking in Oregon (Mopar only), Stephens Performance in Lousiana (Mopar only), and a few others.
So far I have a response from Fremonts in Montana that they have a 66-67 Belvedere tailgate that has minor damage and has had repairs done, and Daryl Finch in the high desert (a Mopar only yard) has a 66 Coronet wagon tailgate that would fit but would have holes for the Coronet tail lights that extend onto the tailgate. Since my Belvedere has the tailgate finish panel, it might cover the Coronet tail light openings.
Fremonts was recomended by a member of the Station Wagon Forum who's name I didn't get when I ran across him and his 62 Olds F-85 wagon at a cruise in last week. Thanks for the tip who ever you were. Right now that tailgate might be my best prospect. Other than the Coronet tail gate I haven't found any other possibilities yet. I figured the tailgate wuld be a difficult part to find.

    No kidding.

Haven't done the rounds for a while at the local yards, but there should be lots of those in Eastern Canada.

    I did find this though:

That would be me, and it was good to meet you. I actually think it's Freman's Auto, however.

Right, Freman's. Not sure why I typed Fremont. Thanks Joe. It was good to meet you too. I hope to see you and that cool F-85 wagon again, but I would also like to see some of the other Olds cars in your collection, especially the 64 Jetstar 88 vert and the 69 Hurst Olds.

Thanks Krash and thanks Norman. I'll bookmark those sites. I wasn't familiar with those part searchs. The Bud's Salvage tailgate sounds a bit rough, but I may still call if I can't find a better one.

I may have found the last decent rust free (advertised) 66 coronet tailgate just over a year ago. Had some dents, but fixed now. I do have the old one, but rotted bottom 1/3. It could be fixed if yours is completely destroyed. Seems to me there was a yard yet in the Carolinas that had 1 left. They never responded to my inquiries on the gate they had - but just a few months ago they sent me some trim off the car. I'll see if I can dig up the name. They are online.

Thanks. I'll check out the Moparfest site. I've heard its a good Mopar show but I've never been.
Just got back from the Mopar Nationals in Ohio a couple hours ago. Still no tailgate, but I did pick up an NOS tail light (lens and chrome bezel) for $20!!!
One vendor said to call him after he's had a chance to get home to Nebraska to see if a wagon in his yard has a decent tailgate. Another vendor said he would be traveling to Desert Valley Auto Salvage later this month and would see if they had a decent tailgate. I had tried contacting Desert Valley direct but got no response.
