(or replacing it with NOS/used parts) cant replace it with a normal one cause i have a tilt/scope steering column and wanna keep that (didnt find one with normal horn and scope) dont have a center pad or horn button or ring, its in de steering wheel itself tryed to find info on google but i either dont know that proper name or it doesn't exist... hahahah best regards JD
Here's some sites. You may have to email them or use an online form to ask: http://www.mmpar.com/mmpars/default.aspx http://www.jimsautoparts.com/ http://dvap.com/parts/
This won't help you with that steering wheel, but maybe on your next project? Its one guys really nice steering wheel repair job: http://www.thebugshop.org/bsfqstrg.htm This site might be helpful in the Links page (requires JAVA): http://www.pearlcraft.com.au/links.htm
there is a guy out in alberta that does excellent work. I had posted a link to his Kijiji ad, but it expired. I think his name is Doug, one of the other members here knows him and said good things. Here is the thread, and maybe moparjohnny can hook us up. http://www.stationwagonforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=7181&highlight=steering
Hey the other ones i allready know have a 68 charger looked for parts on jim's before the mmpar is kinda strange sent a request form onces and got it back e-mail wasn't any longer in use few days ago i sent a e-mail still unanswerd 3rd one dont know ill check it out (looks like they have 2 1974 fury 3 models) the austrailian guy looks good!
I can verify that this place is a good yard to start... I have the same wheel (tilt/tele) and Ive seen at least 4 or 5 of these wheels in the yard in various C-bodies. They are all in pretty bad shape..but if you need 'parts' to rebuild etc...they are there.
hmmm ok thanks for the info! maybe i could rebuild mine.... weird tho from them i dont get any e-mail back to just like mmpar ill wailt till after this weekend, maybe international people arnt that welcome
Do a google search for 'Steering wheel restorations' and you'll get some responses including a couple of companies that do just that.....
Another key thing to remember is to not limit yourself to the CH/DO/PLY Wagons for this steering wheel. Most of the ones I see at the yards are from 1969-72 Imperials, Polaras, Newports etc.. Thats how I found what I needed.
