Hey gdp, thanks for checking in.
Yea, it's been hot, but I just make sure I get up early, and work while it's bearable. I don't mind the heat...it's not too bad...it's a wet heat. ;)

This project was moving along with so much progress from Oct through April, but now it seems to be slow as molasses. But I work on it every chance I get, and progress is still being made.

I have been wet sanding the epoxy primer...that is slow going, but satisfying, and kind of fun, because I stay cool with the water.

No progress on the bolts, but just because I haven't devoted any time to them. The hood stays closed and I pretend they don't exist. I will probably tackle them soon.

gdp, your Torino looks so fantastic!

    David :)

Thanks Fox, it's been slow going lately, but I need to at least post some fresh pics of the latest work that I've done. It is all in black epoxy primer...looks kind of tough. I'll post some fresh pics soon. :camera:

Andy was over the other day when it was about 74F in the sun, and under the light white tarp, over 110 F! You don't move too fast, just steady. I now understand how folks in Mississippi work in their junkyards. Went there once in the early 70's and couldn't believe howwww slloooowww they talked. I was in my early 20's. Well my speedy gonzales wife is wondering if I'm even getting anything done.

... My Dear son, I'm writing slow because I know you don't read too fast...:biglaugh:

I have changed my mind on the color scheme of my big Buick.

Originally, I was going to do this with Royal Blue Metallic paint, a Sandalwood (cream) vinyl top and Sandalwood cloth and vinyl interior with Dark Covert (brown) dash and carpets.

I'm still going with the Royal Blue exterior, but the top and interior will be in white vinyl with black dash, console and carpets.

This may not seem like a big deal, but now that I have made this decision, I can now order the carpet, vinyl and paint. I was never comfortable with the blue and cream combo.

My original concept was to use all original color schemes just as though the Limited Coupe could come with an Estate Wagon option. Since a white vinyl interior was never offered on the Limited Coupe, I just never allowed myself to consider it.
However, I never was completely satisfied with how I envisioned this combination in my mind. I think the brown dash, and the slightly green tinge to the Sandalwood color, mixing those with the blue always had me at odds with going forward and actually painting some of the trim and such.
I already had the interior paints, the brown and the cream, mixed, and spent quite a bit, but never could bring myself to go forward with them.

White vinyl seats with black dash and carpets were available on the '72 Riviera, and since I am already playing hard and fast with the "rules" of how a '72 Buick could be ordered, I don't see why I can't blur the lines of originality a little further.

Now that I decided on the white with black trim, I will be able to go ahead and order the correct white Levant-grain top material, and the correct white Madrid-grain vinyl for the seats. Black cut-pile carpet will be easy.

I love it when things fall into place. :2_thumbs_up_-_anima

David I love the combo but please consider compati-color for the dash and the carpets - it was just a step above - but so noticeable

    something like this

David, how's the 'hardtop' project coming?

Marshall, my eyes are still on the prize, but there's too much sweat in 'em to see! :whew:

Right now, everyday in Dallas is well over 100 degrees, and I have the entire wagon in black epoxy primer and sealer. It is too hot to touch by 11AM.
Plus, I have been out-of-town on work for most of July and August, so progress is slow.

I have everything perfect and ready for final sanding and paint, so the jambs will be painted fairly soon. Royal Blue Metallic. (y)

I will take pics of it this week. :camera:

Maybe, Jeffrey, just maybe I will do blue carpeting and a blue dash, but, well...maybe. ;)

    (probably not :disagree:)
