Hello from the rainy state of Washington! I was really excited when my dad told me he found a station wagon forum, which is why I’m here even writing this. I'm 19, and girl who’s obsessed with wagons. I blame my father; he’s ruined me for life. However, my first car was/is a 1974 Caprice Estate Station Wagon with a 454 big block, lowered on air bags. I stole it from my father when I turned sixteen and never looked back. Anyways I’m looking forward to picking everyone’s brains about the several problems I have with my beloved boat!
Wow, it looks like you've got a dragstrip christmas tree coming out of the garage! Your family means business!
Sweet wagon, SS, and how cool is it that it was your Dad's!! (Did he buy it new?) Welcome aboard. Thanks for the great intro and the pictures.
no he didnt buy it new. He saved it from almost going to the derby. now he has a 72 kingswood estate.
19..?...and nutty for wagons???.... why...if i was 30 years younger....NAH.....i'd still be old... bitchin....thats one lovely land yacht ya got there....and Dads got one too???......good gene pool
hahaha thanks Rev. I'm pretty sure everyone else thinks I'm crazy around here. I though my dad was crazy when he first brought it home but then I turned 16 and had nothing else yo drive so I took it. He had to buy another one after that! And his is mint, its like its never been used. And I am indeed one luck y 19 year old guys.
Glad to see another female around here. It's alot of fun to read what these guys get into. Good luck with your wagon, and daring to be different.
Welcome to the site!!! Anything with a bowtie and a long roof is cool in my book. I think it's great that you are carrying on the tradition... My 19 year old daughter thinks I'm nuts... Your Dad must have done something right that I didn't (probably several somethings...lol)
Glad you found the site SSB - nice wagon. Is your father on here somewhere with his '72? If not you may need to have a daughter-father chat with the old boy. What goes exceptionally well behind vintage wagons is a vintage trailer It is a great way to get out and enjoy the country around you, have gobs of fun with fellow vintage trailer folks many of whom use vintage wagons in the same way. So you get to meet folks with the car interest and in most cases they bought the wagon and then realized what they could actually do for fun that would lead to meeting other wagon folks. And, WA State has a large number of vintage wagons and trailers. If you need info let me know. So, more pics of the car, Inside, Underneath, UNDER THE HOOD I love those 454's even if they are tiny (okay, so mine has a 455, it still feels good).
I like the fact its a clean wagon!!!!! SS post some pics of the interior and engine bay. glad im not one of the youngns anymore lol but i am old compared to you thou
