    71 Pontiac Grand Safari Wagon - $15000 (Parkersburg)

    "1 of 5,972 3 seat Grand Safari Wagons made, very few left. 9 passenger, repainted original Cameo White w/sandalwood inter. PHS documented 325 h.p. 455 (now over 400hp and 550 lb ft of torque). Original PS,PDB,A/C. Rebuilt TH 400 w/shift kit. Rebuilt fact. 12 bolt w/posi and 3:08 gear. Beautiful 95% orig. int. only new fr carpet and floor mats. Detailed trunk area w/ orig.spare and jack. Engine compart. is fully detailed. Original "YC"code 455 has a polished crank w/455 SD oil pump. 1977 "6X-8" heads have been redone w/new valve job and comp. springs. 9.2 comp. Reringed stock pistons. Comp Cams XE262-10 cam and lifters, Comp roller tips, pushrods. Edel.Performer intake w/orig. restored and reshafted QJet. HEI Dist.w/Pertronix internals and coil, mech.adv.kit w/adj vac. adv.A/C updated to R134A refridgerant. Dynomax ceramic headers w/ 2.5 in. full dual exh. w/ X-pipe and Flowmaster 70 series mufflers. All NOS woodgrain w/redyed border trim. Restored Rally 2 Wheels w/ new lug nuts and center caps, New Radial white letter tires (255-70-15), hood tach,comes with original window sticker, 3 build sheets, orig. warranty info,protect-o-plate, and original Pontiac Luggage carrier in exc. cond. w/ Pontiac Paperwork. Comes w/ all origianl equipment that is not on it. Heads, intake, exh. manifolds, steering wheel, steel wheels and full hubcaps. Have 2000 mi. on it since resto. in '07. Drove to Cordova, IL for the B.O.P. Drag Day, Oct. '07. ran a 15.06@89 mph. w/alot more in it. Have timeslip. Car weighs 5480 w/driver. Took Best in Class at 26th Annual Pont. GMC, Oakland Show in Gretna Neb. '08 (drove it to and back). A beautiful frame-on restored vehicle which can be driven as well as showed.     The only thing wrong with it IMO is the stearing wheel, althought it'a a pontiac wheel it should be the stock one.

    I don't mind the Trans Am steering wheel, except it should be beige.......
    They are cool wheels.

    I guess thats the point I was trying to make....it's Pontiac but it's the wrong colour. At least it's not a stearing wheel like in the "Oh The Horrors" tread,,:slap:

    i think in 71 the t/a wheels were all black.....not into the mid 70's they were diff colors. i would say that's right, just paint the rest of the column black.

    So much detailing.... I would have tried to end the resto as close as I could get to original.....loosing the steering wheel, the intake etc

    A hood tach??? Was that an option?
