More Ashtrays than Cupholders--Love it!

Ya the Buick has that same ash tray in the back....just incase my dogs want to lite up....and good luck stuffing Grampa back there!

 

my 64 Merc CP..has 4 ash trays....mind ya...my 76 Grand Marquis Broughham has 6 !!! all 4 armrests..+1 front center...and 1 on the passenger seat back

oh ... and my cup holder sits beside me and complains of my driving

Mine complains that we don't have cup holders.

 

mine has a wierd change holder catch all above the ashtray that has two shallow holes for a cup.... though i would not suggest putting a cup in either one of them and expecting it to not spill if you are driving any other direction than straight and slow, especially if your girl friend is in the passenger seat and you take a left hand turn. ooops.

 

One ashtray in the dash and one two in the back and zero cup holders.
I guess smoking and driving is less dangerous than drinking and driving though.

 

Wow. So if I'm reading that right, all four passengers have an ashtray within inches of either hand... I know smoking was a bit more fashionable in past decades but was everybody two-fisting smokes back in '76?

 

What's a cup holder??

I know my cars have stash trays for change, house keys, trailer keys etc and the factory was prescient enough to include power outlets for todays modern conveniences like cell phone chargers, TV's and more. And they even included a handy little soldering iron for wiring problems on the road...........must have been reading Popular Mechanics cars of the future section when they included them. Or perhaps a Tom Cahill article?

Did someone mistakenly use them for ashes? I thought that is what urns were for. So, when I get buried in my car I now know where the undertaker can put my ashes

 

Extra Ashtrays, for when the main ones get full!!!

 

My 69 Plymouth has only the main one in the dash. I am missing the armrests so I don't know if the back armrests had them or not. They probably did.

I'll be the judge since I started the thread. I think 6 ashtrays takes the prize and the cup holder comment is a thread winner.

My 1991 Caprice sedan has 2 factory cup holders. Strange a 94 wagon dont have them. :confused:

Where are they located?

 

84 buick estate wagon, 4 ashtrays and 0 cupholders unless you count the two rings on the glovebox when it lets down, what kinda crap was that, they are like half a centimeter deep, maybe they were ment for more ashtrays lol.

the kids rear facing seat even has an ashtray in the side with the rear "glove" box. i guess this is back when you could buy a pack at the age of 6 and say it was for maw.

and im tryin to quit at that!

 

The Rav has 10 factory cup holders, and another 2 in my daughters car seat! And it's only a 5 seater, there are 2 cup holders in the back for the optional 3rd row.
Oh and no ashtray, an ashcup is a dealer option!
