Hi everyone! Thanks for letting me into the "garage"! [cracks a virtual cold one] Its as cool as "Darnell's" from Christene, & better. Watched the forums and enjoyed the exchanges, and decided to join. I drive a Red XA Bat Falcon (From The Road Warrior), and am in the very first stages of building an "WagonQueen-American Family Truckster". I am just now searching for a "not too beat to death" base car (dont want one driven like the Griswolds did). You can see why I found myself here in the Station Wagon Forums. I guess if the base car is right I might start with the "VIsta Cruiser" from "That 70's Show" first, but my ultimate is the WagonQueen. One day I will have a fairly sizeable stable of movie & TV cars, but for now it is the Red XA and a Dream. Thanks again for welcoming me here!
I think the WagonQueen Guru, Griswold, is the GoTo guy and he honors us with the same passion as you, so welcome. Glad you're keepin' the faith.
Welcome to the forums. You have come to the right place for Family Truckster info as one of our members is building one!. I would love to see some pictures of your XA Bat. Thanks Stefan
Welcome Red. I replied to your email. Talk to me. Ask and I Will have an answer. You have a pretty large span of "base" cars to choose from. 1979-1987 They were all the same as far as bodies go. Welcome and look forward to talking with ya. Adam
so...thats like ...what...3 guys now!?!?!?! geez...were gonna have to have a seperate class just just for 'movie replica ' when we have our first Wagoon gettogether !!! Welcome....pics?...wheres da pics?!!
Wow, thanks for all the warm welcome everyone. I have only been a member for a day and I feel like I have been a longtimer already. Here is a pic of the Red XA Bat at "Roadwar NorthWest" where it premiered (partially done) in August. You can see a few more on www.madmaxcars.com as they helped me build it. There were so many cool movie cars at this show and it was also at LeMay, Americas Car Museum so there wer lots of cool things. Even tons of cool Wagons! I think the 57 Nomad was really cool, but that is probably good for another thread.
yeah what he said...^^^^ howdy. im down to the souff of you by lakewood. welcome here. youll find out that these guys are a plethara of information, not cause theyre OLD, (hehehehe) but because of theyre passion. no seriously. again welcome.!
who yu callin OLD???...why i otta.. ...as soon as i get out of this comfy chair.................................... ...: yawn :
There is so much good info to read, and awesome pix to look at I havent posted hardly anything yet. Looks like I will have a chance to get a 1973 Aussie Falcon XA GS wagon, if I can swing it. Seems like it might be a good compainion to the Red Bat XA, maybe even a Tow Rig? Maybe that is as disrespectful as hauling a trailer with a Model - t Truck.
