Looking on the list of added pictures, there is a light blue with white top '76 Oldsmobile Custom Cruiser. I sware that that one in the picture is owned by someone here?

I had a bit the same feeling, but considering them a bit closer for my position in The Netherlands:

#2 Peugeot 505 break turbo (or 2.8 V6 for that matter): very, very rare. With the breaks being even be more rare then the sedans in every configurations. All bought and exported to Africa because of their immense popularity there together with its predecessor the 504.

#3 Toyota Crown Wagon, very rare, haven't seen one for sale in whole of Europe and are barely seen at the Eurpopean Classic Toyota meetings. Consider that they were first sold in Finland, The Netherlands and Belgium. I have seen a sedan though, that is I am thinking about... ;)

#6 Mercedes W123, here also delivered with petrol engines, but nowadays pretty expensive when in good condition. Diesels have often 300k km +.

#7 Buick Roadmaster Estate. I think the LT1 engine was only put in the latest ones, from 1991 orso? That means that for us they are not considered a classic and thus it means that they cost enormous amount of roadtax. Not a real option....

#9 VW Passat Rare o find in a good state, certainly with a decent powered engine.

#10 Ford Fairmont Well, what can I say, ever seen only one for sale here and that was in the archives of a auction site. Been looking for one, certainly after meeting Norman here with his enthousiastic stories about it !! (y)

    # 11 Studebaker Lark Well, some may rem, ember that I have been looking at one (including the sliding roof) but they do tend to be expensive, even in a not so decent state. Have seen a few for sale here the past years, iclding a hard top one, and a two-door version. Non with a V8 though...

For Europe I would like to add a Volvo 245/240 Turbo Estate and possibly a Ford Granada 2.8i.....

    Just my 2 cents...

Senri, the Fairmont/Fox wagons are the only ones that you can make into a Sleeper Mustang with the best suspension, engine and transmission equipment available with parts from early 1960 Falcons and Comets or Mustangs right up to 1996 Mustangs, Capris, with almost all stock parts!

In fact, the V8 Fox wagons have bigger front swaybars than Mustangs. Lincoln Versaille disc brakes fit nicely on the rear wheels and that makes 5-stud wheels available. I'm sticking to my story. Love this car!:rofl2:

What's really good is that Mustang owners keep generating the demand for aftermarket parts, so these Wagons are here for a LONG TIME! I can't wait until Springtime to get my new Mustang rear split fold-down seats (from a 1986 Mustang Hatchback). Just too cold to do without a garage.

Rear Swaybar Installation on a 1965 Mustang - similar for Fox bodied Stangs and Monts.

The gal who owns this car has a site called MustangMadam.com (http://mustangmadam.com/)

OTR will want to check her 'crew' out! ;)

    senri,

only the 1994-1996 roadmaster and caprice wagons were lt1 cars.
    1991-1993 were throttle body injection
    here is your b-body schoolin'
1991 (first year for the round body style) were all 305ci (5.0ltr)
1992 buick roadmaster : 350ci(5.7ltr) v8 was standard where the caprice still was a 305 with the 350 being optional. this was the final year for the Oldsmobile Custom Cruiser.
1993...nothing new for the wagon. caprice sedans now had open wheel wells instead of the skirted rear wheel wells like the wagons.
1994 first year for the LT1, that engine was now standard in all wagons..and buick sedan. in the chevy caprice sedan the LT1 was still optional the base engine was a 4.3ltr 265ci v8.
1995. new larger side mirrors now located at the junction of the door and A pillar.
1996. last yearfor the gm B platform.... all buicks are "collectors edition" badged with special gold lettering in the wheels center caps and a large gold lettered hood ornament. under 1,000 caprice wagons made making the 1996 caprice wagon one of the rarest(ahem....mike...).

Nice link! I think the public is starting to realize the value of a wagon again. I was approached at the gas station the other day from a person telling me about how much he appreciates me keeping the car going, and that i shouldnt sell it no matter how much im offered for it. He also wanted to know how many were local. turned into a huge discussion. station manager was not happy about us chatting at the pumps :rofl2:

That's nice to hear. Wagons got a bad rap when the Greenies got going with quips like 'gas guzzling', 'big a$$', etc. wagons...

When I think of the fuel I've saved by hauling my own building materials, since the alternative is some 5 ton flat-deck bring my 6 sheets of flooring or 10 sheets of drywall or a load of 2X4s, there's more money in my pocket for more materials, and especially when you're right there! You'd have to drive home and wait, or get a call that they can't come until the truck gets fixed or they're behind!

The station manager must use a bike and have a big nose, since air is still free! :biglaugh:

    I knew it!

I had posted a few pictures of my '83 Volvo GL wagon in 2001. A few years later, after I had sold it, I found the picture on a Polish or Russian web site.
